Nikon D70   Up

(Printout for easy reference while shooting and for future reference.)
Before shooting an important job, we recommend shooting a test image for our Digital Camera 30x40 Test print.  This test print made on our photographic paper printers will illustrate to you what size, quality, and color you can expect from Bullock Professional's real Endura photographic printers.

  1. Use ISO 200 (We  recommend using the lowest ISO possible.  Higher ISO settings will increase digital "noise" in the final enlarged images much like higher speed film creates grain.

  2. Set the camera resolution to:  JPEG (Fine 1:4) Resolution: Large (3008x2000),

  3. White Balance for "Flash 5400K" . You should use the flash setting whenever you are in the studio under studio lights.  [ Note: When not using studio lighting at weddings etc., set WB to "Auto".]

  4. Image Sharpening: Normal

  5. Tone Compensation: Normal

  6. Color Mode: sRGB II (more Vivid for as-is use)

  7. Hue Adjustment: 0 (default setting)

  8. Record these settings so you will always know how your camera was set for the test print.

  9. Setup for a vertical head and shoulders shot in the studio under studio lighting.

  10. Be sure camera is critically focused and the exposure is perfect.

  11. Take ONE shot of the subject at these settings and copy it directly to a CD. (Do Not open or manipulate the file in any way before sending.)

  12. Place the CD in a Bullock Professional work order envelope.  Note on work order that this is for a "30x40 Digital Camera Test".

  13. We will print a 30x40 print that shows the center strip of your image in 30x40, 24x30, 20x24, 16x20, 11x14, 8x10, and 5x7 print size.

  14. Once you have your print back, you can determine what size, color, and quality these settings will yield when sending images to Bullock Digital for genuine photographic prints.

  15. In the unlikely event that your 30x40 is unsatisfactory for some reason, please call Don Bullock to discuss changing your camera settings and running another test print.

  16. Important -  Once these settings are established it is very important that you do not make changes unless you run another Digital Camera Test Print and verify the new settings will yield a satisfactory result!
